Trying to find a church home can be difficult, and we help make your search as simple as possible. Everyone is welcome at our church, but we know some people have particular tastes or needs that impact what sort of church they\’re looking for. Here\’s some answers to frequently asked questions to help you discern whether or not Whitehouse UMC would be a good fit for you.
Worship Service
Worship Service: 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Fellowship: 10:30-10:45 a.m.
Sunday School: 10:45-11:30 a.m.
Nursery is open 9:15-11:30 a.m.
Dress Code
Feel free to wear whatever you like. Some people come to church in full suits and others come in shorts and T-shirts, and everyone else is somewhere in between! What\’s important is that you feel comfortable to relax and open yourself up to worshiping God!
Style of Worship
Our worship service is mainly a traditional service – we sing hymns out of the hymnal and are led by a choir and piano. That doesn\’t mean you won\’t ever hear contemporary praise and worship songs – our worship team is always working to find the best music to fit the message for every Sunday.
Accessibility
All of the entrances at our church are wheelchair accessible, with ramps and sidewalks connecting the parking lot to the church. Handicap parking spots are located at various places in the parking lot. We have accessible restrooms located near our worship space and all of our fellowship halls.
Parking
We have one parking lot that wraps around our entire building. You can park anywhere you like! All of the doors are open on Sunday morning. Our sanctuary is located at the front of our property along F.M. 346. Our primary fellowship hall (Friendship Hall, where we have most of our meals and parties) is located at the rear end of the building.
Kids & Students
Kids and youth are more than welcome to join us for our main worship service, which includes a children\’s moment for any kids who want to come to up for a lesson geared for them. After worship, we have youth and children\’s Sunday School, and everyone is welcome to participate! We have a nursery for children under the age of 3 that\’s open during worship and Sunday School.
Guests in Worship
No guest at our church will ever be asked to stand and be recognized. That being said, we\’d love to get to know you better! If you\’d like more information about the church, fill out the attendance booklet with whatever contact information you\’d like to give the church. Our ushers and worship leaders will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the service or the congregation.
Offering Time
Every Sunday, we take up a collection to support the ministries of the church. If you are a guest, please don\’t feel obligated to give, though of course you are welcome to do so if you choose. The members of our congregation have made vows to support the church in this way, and so the offering time is their chance to give back to the church financially.
